On our way from PA to Jones Pond, Mike noticed a Casino with a buffet right off the highway. New members get a free buffet! Needless to say, we stopped, got our player's cards, had a very good lunch buffet for free, played slots for about 15 minutes and left with full bellies and $63 more in our pockets. This is what we call a great stop!
Jones Pond is a well established, large gay campground in upstate New York. The camp has over 120 acres with many amenities and numerous permanent seasonal campers. Owners Bryan and Matt purchased the CG in 2012. They have business backgrounds that are well suited to take Jones Pond to the next level - honoring the tradition set out by several previous owners. They are very 'hands on' and work hard to ensure everyone has a good time. The Campground is celebrating its 27th season.
Nearby Jones Pond is Letchworth State Park, voted best state park in the USA and "Home to the Grand Canyon of the East". The park is roughly 17 miles long, following the course of the Genesee River as it flows north through a deep gorge and over several large waterfalls. We enjoyed exploring the park and had a lovely lunch on the porch of the Glen Iris Inn.
We met many guys at Jones Pond, including Camper Steve and Camper Gary from the FL west coast. We attended many events together and met many of their friends. There were gatherings each night at various campsites of seasonal residents and everyone were encouraged to attend.
One rather endearing thing everyone does at this campground is refer to each other using 'camper' before their name. Hence, we were always refrered to by Camper Mike and Camper Ron. Cute.

During our stay they staged "Survivor Games" with a definite gay twist where all the games were very suggestive. It was MC'd by a very funny local comedian and enjoyed by participants and spectators alike.
Each weekend night there were dances in the Barn and other events such as the annual Jones Ponds Got Talent, a fun evening with some seriously talented campers. Sorry, we didn't take any pics that evening.
Jones Pond Campers are very proud of their campground, their sites, their friendships and welcome virgin campers like us with open arms - and more! We were very Happy Campers at Jones Pond!
