We stayed in an Arizona State Park along the Colorado River just south of the Parker Dam (deepest in the world!) and also about 25 mi south of Lake Havasu. We would have stayed here longer but the park was going through improvements in their water and electric systems with both being shut off for many hours at a time! Just 5 miles from our destination of Buckskin State Park we had our first semi-major problem. Our right dolly tire blew out or exploded! Luckily, we had a spare. We pulled off the road at a beautiful scenic overlook. After changing and blowing up the spare, which was flat, off we went an hour later. Tuesday morning, just after loading our "toad," we discovered the new spare was flat. We inflated it but after getting under way we realized it was slowly loosing air. Ron decided it might be a faulty valve. We stopped at a Love's Truck Center in Quartzsite AZ, got a new core and borrowed a tool to fix it. On the road again to Desert Hot Springs, CA - about 110 miles to go!

Only one flat tire! Quite a change from the pioneer days, for sure. I guess it could take only so much high-speed drifting around those mountain curves. Time to put Ron back behind the wheel!

Loved Quartzsite, as well. Perfect place for RV equipped snowbirds during the winter, on a budget (at least when I saw it last).
